Rilling, Vasaloppet 2015

After waxing and brushing:
  1. Rill, using one of our X-mas trees, eg +15/-5 or coarse. Less pressure at the front.
  2. Rill, using 1mm front and back. Hard pressure.
  3. Rill, using 2 mm. Hard pressure at the back. Go easy at the front.
  4. If you have the “Groove” rill use it at the mid section, since the condition of the tracks will decline after a while. This rill is usually used on skating skis, when the snow is softer and more loose.

The past four years, we have recommended 0/-10 X-mas and 1mm front and back, with 2 mm at the back. And the result has been great. Those who go slower than the top competitors, could take a short break and brush their skis one or two times. Brush from the inside towards the front, to avoid getting dirt on the kick wax. Brush the regular way on the back section. A suitable brush for this would be Red Creek Combi Brush, Steel ultrafine/blue nylon (nr 055) or similar.
